Skin biopsies

In a skin biopsy, we remove cells or skin samples from your body for laboratory examination.

There are three main ways to do a skin biopsy:

  • A shave biopsy uses a razor tool to remove a small section of the top layers of skin
  • A punch biopsy uses a special circular tool to remove a small core of skin
  • An excisional biopsy uses a small knife (scalpel) to remove an entire lump or an area of skin

If you are in need of a Skin Biopsy, consult with us. Please Contact Us.

Skin cancer excision

If you have a skin cancer, not requiring Mohs micrographic surgery, surgical excision may be your best answer.

Excision is a treatment of larger skin cancers. Removing the cancerous tissue involves removing tissue and the surrounding healthy tissue. This is commonly used to treat melanoma but can also be used to treat basal and squamous cell carcinomas.

Mole removal takes only a short time and is usually done on an outpatient basis.

Skin tags often grow in areas including

  • Eyelids
  • Neck

Cyst and Lipoma Removal

A lipoma is found just beneath the skin, a growth of fat cells in a thin, fibrous capsule. They are one of the most common noncancerous soft-tissue growth.

Lipomas can be found most often on the neck, torso, upper arms, armpits, and upper thighs, but can occur anywhere in the body. One or more lipomas may be present at the same time.

Lipoma removal can be performed as an outpatient procedure. Contact Us for Lipoma removal.
